Welcome to OCP
Ocean Crest Pier, Oak Island, is a privately owned and operated, family fishing pier known for prize catches of King and Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Blue Fish, Sheepshead, Trout, Pompano, Whiting, Spot, and more. Our wood planked pier measures 893’ x 15’ feet in length with a 50-foot wide, shaded “T” at the end of the pier. It is equipped with regularly maintained and supervised aerated community bait tanks, landing nets, and cleaning stations. Our pier is fully lighted for nighttime fishing, with security for in season fishing. We are handicap friendly with ramp access, and provide free, handicap accessible restroom facilities. Pets prohibited on the pier except for Canine Assistants Service Dogs.
OCP Official Fishing Season:
Begins: In March when the fish are sighted.
Ends: December 1st.
Pier Open: 7-days a week, weather permitting
Season Pass holders: Please check with management for extended hours & pier access.
Pier Closed: During inclement weather-call pier house to confirm.
Salt Water Fishing License
You do not need a NC CRFL Salt Water license if you fish from Ocean Crest Pier. We carry a blanket fishing license that covers all guests who purchase fishing passes and remain on our pier--Ocean Crest Pier ONLY! We do not provide, offer, or sell NC CRFL Salt Water fishing license for beach fishing.

What About Those Loggerhead Turtles?
Turtle Nesting Season is expected to begin May 1st. Most spotted turtles include Green’s, Kemp’s, Leatherback’s, and Loggerheads. They are known to nest along the Carolina coasts. Nesting season continues thru mid-August. Please turn off ocean front lights and please remove trash from the beach. Remember it is against the law to disturb sea turtles and their nesting areas.
